Could either have a television interview with Francesco Alberoni and Richard Schickel as they both have ideas of what is a "star" or have Alberoni giving a speach to scholars about what a "Star" is. Or be pretty simple and just use the quote from the book.
Alberoni suggested various social structures for "stardom to exist". These structures don't automatically produce stars but grounds on which stardom may be produced.
Alberoni definition of "Stardom": "The powerless elite". Stars are a group of people "whose institutional power is very limited or non existent, but whose doings and ways of life arouse considerable and sometimes maximum interest".
He suggested basic conditions for Stardom:
- A State of Law.
- An efficent bureucracy.
- A structured social system.
- A large scale society (everyone knows who stars are, but stars cannot know everyone.
- Economic development above subsistenence (film stars in india).
- Social mobility (anyone can be a star).
Will write what Schickel thought in "Day 4"
